The number one raw material used in making our products is wood. Therefore the quality of our wood is essential, since to a great extent, therein lies the guarantee of JOLAS products.
Most of our products are made with Scotch (Pinus sylvestris). With regard to treatment, we weatherproof the wood using an autoclave full-cell pressure method (Level IV). The wood is placed in a pressure vessel and a vacuum is applied to draw air from the wood cells. A preservative solution is then drawn into the cells by the vacuum, providing the wood with long-term protection from damage, rot and termites. The product used is free from any EPAlisted hazardous compounds such as chromium and arsenic. Therefore, wood cuttings and unwanted pieces can be disposed of as non-hazardous materials in accordance with local and state regulations.
We use two types of panels: weather-resistant plywood panel and decorative, self-standing “HPL” panel.
